No, these are not my Christmas presents (although I wish they were!!), but models recently received by visitors to this site. Having then noticed a lack of photographs on the relevant model page of my site, they have kindly sent me full sets of photographs, which I have now uploaded - just follow each of the links to the model pages. Today, the Wright StreetDeck Electroliner was noted in Park Island undergoing trials. I am grateful to Chan KH and Bus Dream Land for allowing me to share their photographs, more of which have been added to the XTRA section.
Following my recent posting of Paul Ogilvie's photograph, Keith Wood has sent me the above photograph, which captures a similar Hong Kong street scene, but this time at night. It was taken November 1994 and features Kowloon Motor Bus Leyland Olympian 3BL113 heading down Nathan Road towards Star Ferry, closely followed by 'air-con' Leyland Olympian AL24.
As is customary for this time of the year, I have tempted fate by publishing details of the 1/76th scale models released so far this year and a comparison with previous years. 24th

As mentioned on previous occasions, I occasionally come across a photograph that really catches my attention. Today, I came across the above photograph of Kowloon Motor Bus Daimler Fleetline D889 (BM2907) on route 2E heading for Pak Tin. Whilst the bus is clearly of interest, I find the scene it is set in equally, if not more fascinating. My thanks to Paul Ogilvie for allowing me to share his photograph, which was taken in Shanghai Street in 1983. 22nd

MTR Bus is continuing to register its new ADL Enviro500EVs, the latest being fleet no. Z16, which was registered last week. Pictured above is fleet no. Z13 (WS3658), registered on 21st November and spotted yesterday operating route K54A.
The Central Kowloon Bypass between Yau Ma Tei and Kowloon Bay opened today. Citybus operated a special H795 service on the bypass today. The Yau Ma Tei section of the Central Kowloon Bypass is 4.7 kilometres long and has been built as a dual three‑lane separated carriageway with a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour. It links the Yau Ma Tei interchange in West Kowloon with the Kai Tak Development Area and the Kowloon Bay road network in East Kowloon. By providing a fast east–west corridor, the new road is expected to ease congestion on surface streets. During peak hours, the journey time between Yau Ma Tei and Kowloon Bay is forecast to fall from around 30 minutes to roughly five minutes, offering significant time savings for both motorists and bus passengers as the additional eight routes start operating via the bypass. 21st

Well, the challenge I set myself in the News update on the 2nd December has been accomplished with the arrival yesterday of this superb model (with a little bit of help, I may add 😂). The model was released in Singapore, by Knackstop, on that day and it features a three-door Zhongtong N12 electric single decker in SG Bus livery. It is produced by Masterpiece Collectibles. I have added some further photographs to the model page, giving it the title ZT-N12.

On the 'real' bus front, New Lantao Bus has taken delivery of this Gemilang bodied CRRC eD12 electric bus.
Moving back to Singapore, the Land Transport Authority yesterday issued a statement regarding electric buses. Starting end-2026, 660 new electric buses will progressively replace diesel buses that are reaching the end of their statutory lifespan! We’ve just awarded six contracts to procure 360 single deck and 300 double deck buses from these established bus suppliers. * ST Engineering Mobility Services Pte Ltd (partnered with CRRC) * BYD (Singapore) Pte Ltd * Cycle & Carriage Automotive Pte. Ltd. (partnered with Zhongtong Bus) * Yutong International Trade Pte Ltd – Yutong Bus Co. Ltd Consortium With the addition of these new electric buses, we’re on track to having a 100% cleaner energy bus fleet by 2040. 16th

Further details of the recently announced Kowloon Motor Bus models have been released and are as follows:- The first of the two 12-metre Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B8Ls features V6P9 (XL3721) on route HK1 and has a destination of 'Star Ferry - Kowloon City'. It is limited to 750 pieces (KMB2025024). The second features V6P4 (XL506), also on route HK1, but with 'Tour@Kowloon' as a destination. This too is limited to 750 pieces (KMB2025025). New pages for these two models, which are products of 80M Bus Model, have now been added. Next come the two champagne liveried 12-metre Alexander Dennis Enviro500s.

Kowloon
Motor Bus has today announced a plethora of new models in varying
scales. Included are four 1/76 scale models, as pictured below.
The two 12-metre Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B8Ls carry 'Tour @ Kowloon' decals and are both on route HK1. One features V6P9 (XL3721) whilst the other features V6P4 (XL506). The two 12-metre Alexander Dennis Enviro500s feature ATEU23 (PJ9629) on route 87D to Kam Ying Court and ATEU26 (PV7274) on route 80M to Sui Wo Court. Further details will be added when known. 13th
